How to restore a backup in JetBackup 5? \u2013 we talk about hosting unofficial (smarthost.au)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, new functionality in the form of Jet Backup has appeared on our hosting. Thanks to it, you can restore files, bases or emails by yourself. This is a very convenient and fast way. In this guide you will learn how to restore a single file as well as the entire catalog. However, before we start the first step you need to do, you must log in to your cPanel account.<\/p>\n\n\n

1. Setting the email address for notifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nfirst action we recommend is to set the email address in “Settings”,\nso you will receive notifications about “Backup recovery\nprogress”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After\nclicking on “Settings” we will see such a view:<\/p>\n\n\n

You\nwill probably see an empty field – enter your e-mail address where\nyou want to receive notifications. After saving the changes, the\nfollowing message should appear: “Email address successfully\nupdated”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Restoring files and folders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nthe main view in cPanel from the JetBackup category, we choose “File\nBackups”. After this action, available backups will appear on\nthe screen, which you can restore.<\/p>\n\n\n

To\nstart the restoration process, please click on the link: File\nManager. The service is simple and intuitive. To go to the folder,\nclick its name. To go back to the previous location, at the top we\nchoose the interesting folder (eg backupdir) from the current path.<\/p>\n\n\n

In the above\nexample, I selected the .htaccess file and the wordpress directory\n(because I want to restore it). Now I can do two things. Deselect or\nrestore selected files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\nfill the address for the notification, mark the agreement and click\nrestore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Restoring the database<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\nwith files, we can also restore or retrieve the database. We do this\nby going to Database Backup. Then, we search for the database that\ninterests us and click restore or generate download depending on\nwhether we want to restore the database or download a copy to its own\ncomputer.<\/p>\n\n\n

4. Restoring e-mails<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When\nyou want to restore your e-mail account, go to “E-Mail Accounts\nBackup”. There, we can restore the entire mailbox. Just like in\nthe previous sections, click restore, select the agreement, enter the\nemail address and press the restore button again.<\/p>\n\n\n

5. Restore queue.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\nitems ordered to be restored (files, catalog, databases, etc.) are\nput into the queue and executed one after the other. The queue\nfunction will allow us to review the current operations we perform\nand those that have already been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n
