New domain extensions have been popping up on the internet like mushrooms after rain in recent years. These domains are usually managed by commercial companies, which means that these companies can freely set prices for domain registration and renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prices of domains, mainly those with so-called new extensions, are known and can be checked with registrars, including us, at: https:\/\/www.smarthost.au\/domain-price-list<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are premium domains?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An interesting fact, however, is that some domains are sold by registrars at prices that differ significantly from their official registration price. These are known as premium domains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Premium domains are basically ordinary domains, but with \u201cinteresting\u201d names. These \u201cinteresting\u201d names are determined by the registrars themselves, so a domain containing a certain word may be a premium domain for one extension, while the same word may be an ordinary domain for other extensions. However, it often happens that certain phrases are treated as \u201cpremium\u201d in most extensions and are therefore more expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An example name is the word \u201csee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s check how much a .digital domain costs. The standard price for a domain is $52.99 AUD net per year. But when we check the domain see.digital, we get a premium price:

An interesting premium domain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We also found an interesting domain for ourselves: smart.host \u2013 isn’t it nice? .host domains cost $ 132,99 AUD net. But smart.host costs only\u2026 a little over $ 9999,36 AUD net per year \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
